Young ones are good imitators of those they tend to admire, especially in the matters of dressing and grooming. Often, they like to be identified with such people as film stars, singers, footballers and other celebrities. Unfortunately however, those famous people do not turn out to be the right role models when it comes to how a youth wants people to address him or her.
You though, how would you want to be addressed? Even without saying a word, your dressing and grooming say it all.
No doubt, many youths want to be respected and viewed as responsible. If that is your desire, then by all means, pay attention to how you dress and groom. I have seen some young men and women accorded some measure of respect and responsibilities even beyond their ages just because of how they present themselves with regards to dressing and grooming. This is because since people, especially those seeing you for the first time, can't read your heart, they often judge and access you by how you look and what comes out from your mouth.
The bottom line: if you want to be viewed as responsible and respectable, dress responsibly and respectably. If you want people to addres you as 'sir' or 'ma'am', for example, you have to work hard to earn it by the way you dress and groom yourself. Doing so would even attract respect from elders, those who ordinarily wouldn't accord you such because of your young age.
